Ashanté is a two-time graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she received a B.S. in International Trade and Marketing for the Fashion Industries and a B.S in Marketing, and Advertising Communications. She has also completed an A.A.S in Fashion Merchandising Management.
Although she was educated to work in the corporate sectors of the international fashion arena, she quickly realized her passion was in wardrobe styling.
After deepening her extensive knowledge of the fashion industry by working 6 years in retail, where her focus was wardrobing the customer, she was able to develop and fine-tune her eye for style. She then received an internship opportunity in the BET wardrobe department, and it became even clearer to her that her heart was in wardrobing.
In the years since her internship, she has worked with celebrity photographers Anthony Winters, and Christopher Kolk; Styled for major online retailers including Loehmanns.com, and TI’s clothing brand Akoo; Worked with Print Magazines including Elle; Was the lead stylist for runway shows during New York Fashion Week; And has worked with A-List celebrities & athletes including Nate Burleson, David Nelson, and Allison Harvard.
